Our Projects

The Education pillar of the Hunhu Council of Fashion is committed to strengthening Zimbabwe’s fashion industry by providing diverse and impactful educational programs that foster creativity, skill development, and professional growth.

The Creative Accelerator Program (CAP), endorsed by the UN Fashion & Lifestyle Network, is dedicated to empowering female creatives from disadvantaged communities to thrive in the fashion industry. This 16-week intensive program enhances both creative and life skills through hands-on workshops and practical exercises. Participants engage in sessions covering visual identity, surface embellishments, draping, entrepreneurship, and leadership, gaining invaluable mentorship from industry experts, including successful designers, marketers, and leading female entrepreneurs.

CAP fosters innovation by encouraging the creation of unique, sustainable fashion brands that celebrate African identity while embracing contemporary design practices. Beyond skill development, the program nurtures a supportive community, where participants collaborate, share ideas, and uplift one another.

Ultimately, CAP aims to equip Zimbabwe’s female creatives with the tools and knowledge to become economically empowered leaders in the fashion industry.

re-FASHION is our pioneering initiative aimed at nurturing  street fashion designers in Zimbabwe. This 6-week program, leading up to ZFW, provides a unique blend of entrepreneurship education and fashion expertise. Participants will gain invaluable skills in both creative and business aspects of the fashion industry, empowering them to turn their passion into a sustainable career.

Key highlights of the re- FASHION entrepreneurship accelerator:

  • Entrepreneurship Training: Comprehensive workshops on business planning, marketing, and financial management tailored for fashion entrepreneurs.
  • Fashion Design Mentorship: Guidance from industry experts to help participants create their own unique collections.
  • Showcase Event: A grand fashion show at Zimbabwe Fashion Week where six designers will present collections of 10 looks each.
